I've just bought one of these and promptly returned it. It is REALLY loud as it heats up. The amount of steam that it gives off when it reaches boil temp reminds me if being in a sauna. The wall next to it was soaked. It's only single wall so was constantly losing heat consequently it was forever trying to maintain the set temperature.

Control knob came off ours, got replacement which keeps falling off. Tried to grill bacon but it made so much smoke I just fried it instead. Good as slow cooker though.
